On the 11th of May, to mark Drought Day and the start of COP15 in Abidjan, Côte d’Ivoire, UNCCD released Drought in Numbers, 2022, a report calling for full global commitment to drought preparedness and resilience.   Ibrahim Thiaw, Executive Secretary of the UNCCD underlined the importance of promoting public awareness about desertification and drought, and letting people know the problems can be effectively tackled “through ingenuity, commitment and solidarity.”   In line with this, UNCCD launched “Droughtland”, a public awareness initiative. It is our pleasure to announce that from the 13th to the 15th of May, we will be taking part at the art fair ARTMUC in Prater Island, Munich. Founded in 2014, ARTMUC is the biggest art fair in Bavaria. It takes place in Munich twice a year, in May and October. Due to exclusive, discriminatory, and status-oriented tendencies, the relationship that the art world has with emerging countries is complicated. Art from underserved communities, such as Africa, Latin America, the Middle East and Asia remains underrated, overlooked and undermarketed for valuable transactions that can sustain art creators and curators.  This is why artists from emerging countries often remain unseen, and their efforts for global marketing opportunities elusive.
