ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Afeez Aregbede is a contemporary visual artist who lives and works in Ibadan. He is an indigene of Ilaro, Ogun State, Nigeria. He had his childhood experience in his native land. He discovered his talent at a young age, He attended Itolu High School, Ilaro, Ogun State. He polishes his lifelong education and depict a high level of creativity with his passion for art. He obtained a National Certificate in Fine and Applied Arts from Federal College of Education, Osiele Abeokuta. As a painter, he masterfully communicates with the people in his society through contemporary paintings. His series of works depict African figures (mostly, children livelihood and experiences) and his emotions are connected to what he paints daily, based on his background. Youthfulness is a way of being, and vitality of the young is inevitable, the health and behavior of a child is personalized on the pursuit of joy, which can only be influenced by parental control and other factors. Reminiscing about the things you did as a child, and how you were enlisted on to a family and circle of friendship, these are what makes the memories linger and a precious one. These are the principles he laid and story behind his work.
