Echoes of Fluttering Wings explores migration and the search for belonging, identity, and home. The exhibition reflects on how people from diverse cultural backgrounds carry their cultural heritage and memories into new environments, creating hybrid identities while often facing exclusion and pressure to remain silent. Through the works of the artists, the exhibition creates a safe space where these experiences and voices can be expressed, celebrated, and heard. This exhibition is a collaboration between Unmaking Art Studio and Satellites of Art organized by 3 students of Universitat Internacional de Catalunya Master of Art and Cultural Management program.

Thank you to everyone who joined and supported Crown Caps for Intercultural Communication at the Université de Genève last Friday 8th May.

Through collective participation and spontaneous dialogues, discarded bottle caps were transformed into playful shapes and nature-inspired forms, reminding us how small individual actions can come together to create connection, creativity, and shared meaning while opening conversations about the environment and recontextualizing waste as a cultural and social resource.

Bottle caps are disposable objects small, ordinary, easy to overlook. Yet they carry unexpected potential.

Each one is distinct in colour, shape, and traces of use; turn it over, and a simple, almost uniform reverse appears. This contrast reflects something familiar: we are both unique and connected by what we share.

Crown Caps for Intercultural Communication builds on this idea, transforming discarded materials into a medium for encounter, reflection, and collective action. Collecting becomes an invitation to consider excess, resource consumption, and global inequalities, opening conversations around the environment, climate, migration, and social justice.

Join Crown Caps for Intercultural Communication – a participatory installation exploring identity, dialogue, and collective power through everyday objects, transforming overlooked materials into a space for encounter, dialogue, and shared reflection around sustainability and collective power. Through small gestures, we explore bigger questions of connection and collective change.

“Crown Caps x Migration” is a participatory dialogue project that uses art as an accessible tool to promote intercultural exchange, social participation, and mutual understanding. Through shared artistic activities in public spaces, people from diverse backgrounds actively collaborate and engage in conversation with one another. The project creates spaces for encounter where diversity becomes visible and dialogue is encouraged around migration, coexistence, and broader social issues.

Together, we will create a collective installation made of bottle caps.
Each bottle cap represents a story, and together they form a visual symbol of diversity and togetherness.

The goal is to strengthen the participatory nature, accessibility, and dialogue potential of the art project within a real, multicultural setting.

Different perspectives capture each artist’s focus. Each practice is shaped by its own set of questions, experiences, and modes of expression, directing attention toward diverse subjects and fields of inquiry.

This collective exhibition brings together four artists from Iran whose practices differ widely in subject matter, medium, and approach. Landscape, environmental issues, inner worlds, and questions of culture and gender coexist in the space without being unified under a single theme.

The exhibition foregrounds difference: Each artist focuses is shaped by personal experience and individual modes of expression. At the same time, subtle intersections emerge through parallel gestures of searching, observing, and translating ideas into visual form.

The plurality of perspectives invites audiences to explore how artistic attention takes shape differently for each individual, revealing the variety of approaches that can coexist within a shared cultural context. Placed in dialogue, these works invite viewers to encounter multiple points of attention.
