Nicole Remus

‘I am an Artist and Curator who works actively in my local community to build the art culture and support emerging artists while pursuing my own career in art. I do not like to limit myself to media, I like to experiment with ideas, techniques and materials. As an architect, I believe the material itself also communicates.’

ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Nicole is a self-taught visual artist from Jinja, Uganda. She works primarily with The Creative Tribe as the visual arts director and curator of their Monthly PopUp gallery. Her work explores the transcendent elements of the individual.
Nicole's practice can be defined as experimental with a central theme of Identity. Through her work, she tries to understand the human psyche and what makes us who we are. She creates figurative abstracts using photo manipulation, photography as well as paint on various media such as canvas, stone, and glass. Nicole’s work are analyses of her own identity and employs symbolism just like one of her major influences, Frida Kahlo.
