ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Lucila Quillahuaman is a Peruvian visual artist and architect. She earned her degree from the Diego Quispe Tito University of Cusco and holds a Master’s in Architecture and the Management of Cultural Heritage, Historical Centers, and Sites from San Antonio Abad University of Cusco.

 

Her upbringing in the peasant communities of Chinchero, Cusco, influenced her practice, providing her with extensive knowledge of traditional textile techniques and ancestral wisdom connected to the land, plants, and collective labour.

 

Lucila has participated in numerous workshops, exhibitions, and art residencies at local, national, and international levels. Her work explores the intersections of art, architecture, weaving, drawing, and 3D animation, delving into both digital and analog formats. She is actively involved in organizing collective exhibitions and workshops worldwide and is a member of art collectives in Cusco, including Sol de Soles and K'uskiy.
